Help is at hand: Reduce your risk of Type 2 diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a very serious health condition but there are lots of things you can do to reduce your risk or even stop you getting it.

If you are at high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, you may be eligible for referral to your local Healthier You service. This NHS-funded programme can support you to make simple changes to your diet, weight management and physical activity levels. They are easy to incorporate into your everyday routine and can significantly reduce your risk of diabetes-related health problems

The virtual Healthier You service allows you to get support to reduce your risk of Type 2 Diabetes from a dedicated Educator and online group environments, using Zoom. Zoom is an easy to use tool, widely used for online services. If you want to take a look and familiarise yourself, please visit zoom.us

Diabetes UK have a range of resources available to provide additional support, with topics including exercise for being active at home, diet, and mental wellbeing during the current situation while staying at home or self-isolating.
