Meet the team

Tash

I live and breathe healthy living. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Nutrition following an undergraduate degree in Health and Sports studies. I’m also a sports nutritionist - something I use regularly with my personal training. Currently I’m in training for the Ninja Warrior TV show, which is tough but really good motivation to stay focused and disciplined!

My background is in health improvement in the NHS and voluntary sector. Over the years I have helped people to successfully stop smoking, lose weight, eat healthier and get more active. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Amy

I’m a bubbly person whose aim in life is to help people stay healthy and happy. My interest in health and wellbeing stemmed from struggling with my weight as a teenager. I went on to achieve a degree in Nutrition, Health and Lifestyles. I am particularly interested in helping people understand how and why their emotions affect their eating habits and physical activity levels.

I have enjoyed roles as a Health Adviser, Health Support Worker and Dietetic Assistant within a Specialist Weight Management Team. My journey to a ‘healthy me’ led to developing a love for walking, cycling and running (very steadily I might add) in the countryside.

Claire

Since graduating with a degree in Nutrition and Public Health, I have worked with organisations such as The British Heart Foundation and Swansea City Football Club. Two years ago I made the big move from Wales to Nottingham where I worked as a Health Trainer in the NHS. Despite living in Nottingham for the past two years I haven’t yet shaken off my Welsh accent (which my colleagues remind me about at every chance). I really enjoy helping people to change their lifestyles and understand it’s not always an easy road. I look forward to providing you with the knowledge and support you need to make those first steps towards your goal.

Ishfaq

I am passionate about diabetes prevention. Following my Masters in Health Psychology, I decided to become a Diabetes Educator. I am an easy going person who likes to help others with their health and wellbeing.

I really enjoy the social aspect of this work and like getting to know everyone who walks in the door. I strongly believe that laughter is the best medicine in prevention! I look forward to meeting you.

Denise

Hi, my name is Denise Orwin. I'm married, mother of one and grandmother of two. I have worked for the NHS for 20 years, the last eight of those with diabetic patients. Life can be a bit hectic, so I understand that thoughts of changing lifestyle, diet and exercise can sometimes seem a bit daunting. I have a 'bonkers' dog who keeps me in check, but we will work together to discover what could work for you! I enjoy cooking and entertaining, and have the reputation of being the worst Karaoke artist in the East Midlands! I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge, which will allow you to make more informed lifestyle choices and hopefully reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes. I am really looking forward to meeting you.
